The purpose of this organization is to maintain, enhance, and grow the economic viability of the Crawford County communities.. CDC is commited  to serving all citizens of the county, interfacing with various groups, business, and governmental agencies to maintain and expand our economic base.

The CDC can put you in touch with other CDC members who could become new clients or customers.

Ambassador Calls 

This is an excellent gathering for both CDC members and new businesses.  Ambassadors get a chance to see new businesses, remodeling, or new owners/managers.  Businesses get a chance to receive great publicity for new events happening in their business.

Businesses After Hours

Popular membership get-together held throughout the year where members and employees can meet, exchange businesses cards, and  talk "shop" in a relaxed, informal setting.  Any CDC member is welcome to promote their business through hosting a Business After Hours.

Other Social Events

The CDC hosts 2 golf tournaments, a "Women in Business" luncheon, and other events that involve all our diverse Chamber Members' Businesses.


The CDC receivers thousands of requests each year for recommendations on goods and services to be purchased in Denison.


Retail Promotions & Community

The CDC coordinates many promotions and exciting events to attract tourism into the county and promote shopping locally.  These events include, Cat & Dog Days, Oktoberfest/Customer Appreciation Days, and Holiday Open House.

CDC Community Gift Card Program 
The new CDC Community Gift Cards are available at the CDC office.  The CDC Community Gift Cards encourage local shopping, makes it easier to give a gift or incentive and promote spending at CDC Member Businesses.  The CDC sells thousands each year.  The CDC Community Gift Cards can only be spent at CDC member businesses.

CDC update Newsletter 
The CDC's newsletter is designed to keep members informed on committees, communtiy activities, CDC events, and local business issues.  The newsletter also provides a vehicle for CDC members to promote their products ans services to over 350 subscribers through advertising opportunities.
Membership Plaques & Stickers
Displayed stickers ans plaques add credibility to your business.  It certifies your support in the development of the Crawford County community and your voice in its direction.
Bulk Mailing Permit 
Direct mail to potential customers is one of the best forms of advertising.  The CDC has a bulk mailing permit, which is available to our members for use on large mailing of 200 or more pieces.  using the permit can save you up to $.15 per piece.
Membership Directory 
The CDC's membership directory lists all member firms including contact information (phone, fax, address).  Lists are available in label or disc form giving you direct access to a target audience of business professionals.
Publications, Brochures & Lists
Many hours of research and production go into publishing the many lists  and brochures available at the CDC office.  THese include CDc member listing, civic guides, and local attraction brochures.
Laminating & fax Machine
 The CDc office has a laminating machine and fax machine available for our members to use at a minimal fee.
Political Representation 
The CDC assists you in keeping up-to-date with governmental issues which may directly affect your business.
Red Alert Program
This e-mail alerts businesses of scam  (shoplifting, bad checks, deceptive advertising) taking place in the community.
Professional CDC Staff
The CDC should be your first call for information; whatever your question is the CDC usually has the answer or can put you in touch with people who do.
The CDC has a Notary on staff for all of you notary needs

Economic Development 
The CDc works with many businesses and entrepreneurs insuring that questions are answered and needs are met.  The CDC also initiates many recruiting programs to find new businesses and works diligently to initiate programs for existing businesses and their retention.

THe CDC keeps an up-to-date detailed listing of available buildings within the county.
Statistical Information
The CDC also keeps up-to-date statistics on file regarding sales tax figures, population and labor surveys.  We also have resources to locate more specific information if needed.
